The Atlantic Highway

Head up to Lynton on the north coast for your first night at West Ilkerton Farm. This family run farm is in a lovely secluded spot, with direct access onto the moor from the site – head out for an evening walk to blow away the cobwebs.
Saunton Vineyard
Follow the coast down to Lobb, dropping in at one of the popular surfing beaches of Woolacombe or Saunton Sands on the way, before spending the night at this boutique Devon vineyard. If you time it right, you might be able to join host Matt for a wine tasting!
Head down to Bude, and get the paddle boards out for a day at the beach at Widemouth Bay, before heading up the hill to Atlantic View. Enjoy more exceptional views. Get in touch with host Jonathan for a home-grown steak to cook on the BBQ!
Start heading back inland to spend the night at Nature’s Rest. This small but thriving nature reserve has an abundance of wildlife, so make sure you bring your binoculars and look out for the friendly owls and deer as dusk settles.
Explore Exmoor

After collecting your Defender Camper, head to the beautiful Tripp Farm on the edge of Exmoor, just 40 minutes away. Perfect for your first night while you get settled in, Tripp Farm is easy to access and has stunning views over the Blackdown hills and the Quantocks.
This secluded site is accessed down a private green lane, opening out into a lovely field in the valley with a river running through the bottom. A perfect Off Grid hideaway
Head back over Exmoor towards the pretty town of Dulverton to Stockham Farm, which boasts one of the best views of the Exe valley.
Dartmoor Weekend

On the south east side of Dartmoor, this site is really tucked away up a farm track, and has direct access onto the moor. Just head up through Skerraton gate for a day’s adventure on the hill.
Challacombe Meadows
Head into the heart of Dartmoor for your second night on a secluded site in a beautiful wild flower meadow. Ask your host Mark for a farm tour and learn about all the rare flora and fauna that flourishes under their regenerative farming scheme.
To make sure you have a relaxing final morning, head up to Axon Farm for your last night, just 15 minutes from the Defender Campers base. While conveniently located, you would never know you are so close to the main road with an abundance of wildlife and tranquil surroundings.
Somerset Weekend

Pick up your Defender Camper and head north east into the Cranbourne Chase AONB. Knoll Ground is just past the famous National Trust Stourhead House and gardens, and is a peaceful spot at the top of a farm tracks, with good walks into the surrounding countryside.
Keep heading north through the Mendip Hills AONB to Butcombe View, a 4x4 only site that is accessed down a green lane. A true off-grid site which overlooks the village of Butcombe and back into the Mendip Hills.
