Campsites
In no particular order, here are some of our favourite campsites in and around the South West.
From Wild camping and off grid, to family camping with swimming, there is something for everyone.

Buckland Farm Camping
Buckland Farm is a local (to us) family run working farm and campsite. There are only a few pitches, so you have a huge amount of space. Whether you want to rest or go for countryside walks, it's a truly wonderful experience.
Being so local to us, if you are travelling from far away, we can have your pitch all set up for you should you want to just arrive and relax for a perfect first night.
Little Silver Stream Farm
Little Silver Stream is another working farm, but you can access many of the fields and just find a spot and pitch up. It's wild camping on a working farm. There are limited facilities, but don't let that put you off. An awesome off grid camping experience.
Forest Glade
We have been going to Forest Glade for years and we're still surprised to learn new things about it every visit. It is the perfect family site, not too busy, not too quiet. They have a swimming pool and adventure area for children, with a shop selling essentials and warm food. The 5 acre field provides all the space you'll need and the facilities are always excellent. Our boys love it and can never wait for the next visit.
Caffyns Farm
Caffyns is another bolthole we go to for family camping. It is a working farm, with a bar, shop and some amazing walks through the orchards, to the Valley of the Rocks and Lynton and Lynmouth. The farm itself is a great place to explore Exmoor and there are always amazing views out to sea. Look out for starry nights up there, Exmoor is some of the best star gazing in the UK. There is no booking needed, but get there early in the day during busy times.
PoolBridge
Poolbridge is a great spot for Off Grid and family camping. Located in a gorgeous valley on the Northern edge of the Somerset coast, Poolbridge has with a river running through it and some stunning walks, much of which is protected forests.
The site has limited phone signal (a good thing!) and all the basic facilities needed. It is a very popular site and booking ahead is advised in busy times.
North Morte Farm
North Morte Farm is one of the most popular locations for Defender Campers. Situated in North Devon, right on the coast, it has the most amazing sunsets to sit out and view across the sea. From here you can access many of North Devon's best surf spots and there is an amazing Sri Lankan curry right on the beach at nearby Barricane Bay.
Nearly Wild Camping
Nearly Wild Camping is a national network of off-grid camp sites, often in farmers fields or privately owned land. The sites are carefully selected and membership to the site (£20 a year) gives you access to the network of locations and the contacts you need. A great way to explore with your Land Rover Campervan rental
